I think it is a great way to see imperfections, too. I have tried to do it before, but, I always find more after the primer, so, I think i will do as you did, just prime, then find.

I hope you soaked the body and other resin parts in some "Westley's Bleach White" to remove any mold release residue.

I feel extremely lucky, my eyesight is good enough still that I can spot everything but the tiniest flaws without primer. I can see my fingerprints with my fingers less than an inch from my eyeball, but everything 5 feet away from me is just a blob of color...a trade-off I'll take all day long!
