ok bit of work got in the way a but i am back at the bench again
also i guess i should introduce you to the newest member of the house....
Sampson, he was 7 weeks at this pic, cane corso mastiff..goes with the rest of the loony bunch of fur kids we have
on now onto the building..
i wanted a bit of contrast with the gas tank so i masked that off for paint.
gonna use dark aluminum on it so its a bit different shade than the frame
quick shot through the airbrush
i also used a thin wash of black oil paint thinned with mineral spirits across the whole chassis underside to bring out detail
i am not normally a fan of decals for graphics but i found a set in a 60 imp that i think fit this build perfectly.
then followed it up with 3 coats of 2 part urethane clear
now that can sit for a few days, i will polish out anywhere that needs it and then add bare metal foil
now for the engine....
409 with some options..
i think this one will get a dual carb setup with a modified manifold and pair of holleys
off to paint

Looking great, Wayne! Although, the highlight is Samson. (LOL)
We had a dog with that name, he was the best dog you could ever have. We haven't been able to bring ourselves to get another since.
Colors are looking great, although, if I were to use my sons Legos like you do, making a mold holder out of it, he would just kill me.

got the legos from the thrift store for about 3 bucks, no way i would pay retail for them now. kinda scary since i remember having about a 10lb box of them when i was a kid...
would be worth a fortune now lol
Sampson is a good pup so far, put on 10 lbs in the last 3 weeks and he is expected to do more than that in the next 3, gonna have to buy him a saddle by the time he is 1 lol
