Coming to completion, but not yet

Wow, could it be? Could I actually finish a model? This would be the first one since I joined this site whet it was the old site, actually, it would be the first in over 12 years. I'm so excited, I can actually see this one getting completed.
Well, here it is, what I have so far.
Got the front axle and steering assembly on, and then I painted over the chrome with an acrylic paint, from Walmart, called gunmetal. (I am falling in love with this paint) Took the fake shine away and made it look like it fit the project.

I had the body flat black, but chose to do the same gunmetal paint over the body. Going over the black, I think it came out looking very much like someone stripped the paint off to bare metal.

Played with the rims a bit, painted over the chrome with the gunmetal, then thought that painting the inner hubs black would make it look much better. I did this only to find that I put the hubs on backwards.

Did a quick mock up of the engine and the front grill. Put the wheels on. Something just doesn't seem right, but the fix comes later.

Decided to put some rust on the body, since, if you bring a body to bare metal and don't repaint, you will get surface rust. So, I added it, I think it came out pretty good.

So, I got the hubs straightened out and fixed, got a new distributor in the engine, as the one that was in it just didn't work.
This is my first attempt at wiring a model. At 1/24th, I am not worried about firing order. I think it came out pretty good.
Put the front grill/radiator on, trying to figure out how to finish it off. Had it on at an angle, but, that just wasn't working, so, I removed it and put it back on straight.
Got the seats, the shifter and the dash installed.

As you can see, I had to add some styrene rod to the inner hub of the wheel to make it all work. I added it to the rear first, just so I could get some clearance for the rear wheels, it seemed like a great way to get the front to follow the same. Just need to add disk brakes now.

This is a really nice close up. I just need the windshield installed, (That comes soon), and some little odds and ends.

There is the windshield. I have to finish it off, but, the frame is there.

You can see the patina and the wiring a bit better here. I still need to get headers on it, a front grill, headlights, tail lights, disk brakes, etc.
So, there is is, to date. Almost complete. Would love to get some additional things to put on it. Not in a hurry, but, I am excited to finish it.

Well, I am getting there.
Got the headers modified, installed and painted.

[img][/img]
Got a grill, modified it and got it put on. Later, I went over the chrome with gunmetal.
[img][/img]
Here is a shot after I got the painting finished
[img][/img]
So, as you can see, the headers and the grill got installed. I need to get headlights mounted, tail lights mounted and a driveshaft. I will get disk brakes as soon as they come in.
This could be done soon. I do need to figure uut what I can use for glass, in the windshield.
