I will try. No building this weekend, though, as we went camping. I will be posting my sons plane soon.

So, got some more done last night on the rat.
I found a great power master cylinder to add to the firewall and I added the firewall.
" />
Next, trimmed out a dash and got it in
" />
" />
Tried a mock up with the engine I first had, seems pretty nice, but, I am just not feeling it.
" />
Found this engine from a 65 GTO that I had in my junk box, never had all the parts to finish it, so, I figured it would do well as a donor kit.
" />
I set it and figured out how it should set, got the transmission mount put in. (remember, this is a true Rat Rod, not a custom hot rod, so, things are "engineered")
" />
" />
Added the front mounts, got the engine to sit exactly how I wanted.
" />
Mocked it up to see if I truly had everything sitting as I thought it should.
" />
Hand brushed some black on the body, figured a guy who is trying to make a fast car out of whatever he has around the garage, probably had a paintbrush and flat black paint.
" />
" />
So, that is where it is for now.
Big Jim got the idea that he needed a fast car. Now Jim is pretty good with cars and metal fabrication. He doesn't always finish every project he starts, but, he can get them to look ok and work great.
Jim looked at all of the metal and car stuff he has at his garage/field and decided he really likes the old body he found, but, it really needed some work, as the back seats were gone and the back portion of the body was rusted, the roof was caving in where the glass had be shattered and the front legs had been bent. He removed the roof and cut it down to make this 4 seater a 2 seater and found that he had an old Pontiac GTO that would never be good for anything but parts and saw that someone, at one time, had thrown a nice engine in it and so he took that and fabricated front mounts and a transmission mount so he could set it in. Now, Big Jim is on the lookout for the drive train he will use and some finishing touches. (He wants to take Betty Lou to the dance at the end of the month in it.)

Sounds good. Not sure when I will get back to this, the rest of this week is pretty tight, but, who knows.
I have to get back to my son's plane, also, so, that will cut into my time, but, it is fun seeing him enjoy it.
