I could paint it with Metalizer Steel, but I'm not sure how long it would hold up, so it's looking more and more like I'll have to use some Blacken-It on this. I'll give the Metalizer a shot though, it might hold up long enough to wrap it back on the reel!

metalizer with a top coat of future would do the trick and seal it so it doesnt oxidize over time

OK, time for an update! I got some nice warn weather this weekend, so I broke the boat back out and got ready to lay down some more Candy Silver. But as I was getting ready to un-mask the boat after spraying, I noticed the bow of the boat looked horrible! Seems like some of the putty had swelled up, and I had a few ripples in it, so I sanded the bow area down, and a bit on the back corner where it had peeled looked bad too, so it was sanded down also. So now I'll be repainting all the Candy Silver, but at least it'll all be smooth this time!
